Meet Michelle Gilsey

Michelle Gilsey is a self-taught artist whose work brings a whimsical, playful spirit to everyday life. Inspired by her love of animals, Michelle creates delightfully unexpected illustrations that combine charming characters with familiar objects and moments—you might find a squirrel tucked inside a coffee cup or a dog enjoying a bowl of spaghetti.

When she’s not creating, Michelle spends her time with her husband and her four dogs and cat, who are never far from her side and often inspire her work. Her hope is simple: that her art makes people smile.

We’re delighted to feature Michelle’s original designs in London Penny’s Artist Corner, where her whimsical artwork can be enjoyed across our collection of gift wrap and personalized gifting pieces.
